The Green Screen

Who we are and what we are doing

These tour buses are environmentally unfriendly for the neighborhood. The bus owners dress them up in art to distract people from their noise and air impacts.

ABOUT THE GREEN SCREEN

We are a group of students, professionals,  and neighborhood residents interested in making our local communities healthier places.

Our first goal is to get an environmental film for each neighborhood in San Francisco. A neighborhood map can be found here: http://streetair.org/the-green-screen.html

Our second goal is to get neighborhood environmental films from around the U.S. With national data we may be able to spot trends or interesting ideas that would be helpful to  many neighborhoods.

Film is a catalyst for solving environmental and urban problems. Our culture prefers visual images as they tell a complex and compelling story.  Fay Darmawi writes about this process  and how film can be a catalyst for change, in the article below.
